This year’s Enlit Europe in Milan brought together over 15,000 energy experts to shape the future of energy—covering critical topics such as hydrogen, power generation, eMobility, grid modernization, and the digital revolution in energy retail. Equipped with right digital platform, retailers have a unique role in engaging customers—now more and more often prosumers—in adopting innovative energy sources.

Retailers and Digitalization: The Key to Energy Innovation

At the heart of this shift is digital transformation. Walid Bounar, triPica’s Founder and CTO, emphasised that “modern digital customer engagement and billing tools are no longer optional but essential for retailers.”

Reflecting on his conversations with industry leaders, Walid faced retailers’ dual challenge: they must not only deliver the basics of customer satisfaction, such as accurate, timely invoicing and efficient service, but also innovate to meet evolving energy needs, and do so cost-effectively.

“To achieve top NPS, retailers must get the basics right—on-time invoicing and responsive service—while enhancing customer support efficiency. To do so, they must have the right tools in place” said Walid.

Meanwhile, emerging technologies in photovoltaics, battery storage, heat pumps, and smart devices now allow retailers to create energy offers that encourage energy sobriety. “These innovations provide retailers the flexibility to design new energy models that prioritize renewable sources, giving consumers more control over their energy mix and, ultimately, lower bills”, noted Walid, “suppliers need a flexible monetisation platform enabling them to invent new models, in accordance with regulations that are changing very quickly.”

“With rapid smart meter deployment, real-time platforms now empower retailers to offer insights and enable smarter consumption, more connected to the reality of the market and capacity of production” stated Walid.

“triPica is particularly suitable to support suppliers in these challenges. Their customer service can be ultra efficient using our CRM offering a 360 customer centric vision with real time information available and real time action performed thanks to our full integration with distributors systems. Our AI CRM assistant, introduced at Enlit, was particularly well received, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can boost customer support efficiency by offering a summary of any situation and advise on the next best action for agents. And triPica has also demonstrated that it is able to quickly launch new models, such as the Vehicle To Grid offer we launched with The Mobility House”, said Walid.

Paving the Way for a Greener, Cost-Effective Energy Mix

As Europe moves toward a sustainable energy future, retailers have a vital role in making renewable energy accessible to consumers. By offering green energy options within a flexible, innovative framework, retailers can help lower costs and promote responsible energy consumption. With advanced platforms like triPica, retailers are not only improving customer engagement but also leading the shift toward a sustainable energy landscape that benefits everyone.

Enlit Europe 2024 made it clear: the future of energy depends on the ability to innovate and engage. triPica offers retailers the tools they need to redefine customer engagement and lead Europe’s energy transition with confidence and clarity.
